There is a Fountain!

Father,

So many are in need today –

broken hearts

broken spirits

broken bodies

a broken world.

Every phone call, every text seems to bring a new dose of trouble and pain.

We struggle to keep going, to breathe the next breath, but life just keeps happening. Needs grow so far beyond our capacity to manage. We are parched from the journey.

Where is comfort, Lord, when hearts are shattered, and dreams are scattered and crushed by the steamroll of life’s events.

Where is hope when sorrow has dimmed the light in our souls?

Where is grace in the harsh reality of daily living?

Comfort, hope, grace – these three necessary vitamins for living in this world of despair – seem in short supply. Accounts that draw their bounty from the resources of this life only are overdrawn. Their wells are dry, and devastation  knocks at the door.

But, there is a Fountain!

Jeremiah 2:13 calls You the Fountain of Living Water.

Living Water – not stagnant or still but flowing into and through the hearts of believers everywhere. Filling up and splashing over the top Living Water.

Giving hope where life seems hopeless.

Granting grace and peace right in the middle of turmoil.

Infusing life into the dry cisterns of our hearts.

The woman at the well in Samaria met this Living Water, and she was never the same.

Father,

You are our Fountain of Living Water, and

You never run dry!

Fill us up today, Lord. Flow in us and through us to a world in need.

John 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knew the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou would have asked of Him, and He would have given thee living water.

Revelation 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
