For Thou wilt lighten my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. (Psalm 18:28)

Father,

Light my candle with the fire of Your Spirit and the brightness of Your glory.

Let it shine into corners and rooms where hearts are captured by hurt and hatred.

Let it shine through falsehood to reveal Your truth.

Let it shine into cracked hearts and home, chasing out the roaches of unforgiveness, anger, and despair.

Let it shine with Your love, Your mercy, Your grace, Your truth.

Light my candle.

This little light of mine; I’m gonna let it shine,

but only if it reveals Your light shining through me.

Isaiah 9:2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.

Matthew 5: 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Ephesians 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

A good listen: Go Light Your World

Perspective in Prayer

My prayers usually focus on what I need God to do for me. Things like rain, health and healing for a friend, grace to deal with the frustrations of the day. I pray for my children and their children.
