Father,

Sometimes I don’t feel very loving.

Sometimes I think I have given enough.

I want to sit back and wait for others to take a stand, fill the gap, give the gift, care.

Sometimes I feel pretty mean inside, and I think, “I’m NOT doing it!”

Then I remember You.

I remember Your consistent grace in the face of hatred, Your steadfast love and great mercy.

I remember Your forgiveness – how I have needed that!

I remember, and I realize that I will continue;

I WILL do it – whatever ‘it’ is –

for You.

Hebrews 12:Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

I Samuel 12:24 Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.
