Eyes

Father,

Let my eyes be on You.

Too often I place my eyes on others.

Then their very humanness becomes my focus, and my image of You diminishes and grows dim.

Let my eyes be on You, on Your glory, on Your love, on Your perfection.

Then, the radiance of Your glory will overshadow the imperfections of this world and turn my fault-finding into compassion and love.

II Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Perspective in Prayer

My prayers usually focus on what I need God to do for me. Things like rain, health and healing for a friend, grace to deal with the frustrations of the day. I pray for my children and their children.
