Psalm from my Heart

My soul is wrapped up in You, Lord. You are my breath, my life, my joy, my righteousness.

When I cry, You catch my tears. When I struggle, You lift my hands. When I am silent, Your Spirit whispers love to my heart.

The clamor of this world rubs like sandpaper on my soul; Still, in You, I find rest. I find peace.

Worry grabs me and throws me to the ground, but You lift me and brush the sand from my thoughts. Fear nips at the heels of my mind until my heart sees Your face and accepts Your grace.

Why do I run, Lord? Why do I veer from Your path?

Reign in my wandering heart, and settle me in the lap of Your grace.

You are my Lord.

Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart fail: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

Perspective in Prayer

My prayers usually focus on what I need God to do for me. Things like rain, health and healing for a friend, grace to deal with the frustrations of the day. I pray for my children and their children.
