Peace in the Storm

When the thunder roars
I listen for Your calm
tucked between the raindrops
that stream down my face.
I see You in the lightning flashes
that scatter the dark clouds
of my night.
I hear Your voice singing
in the blustery wind
that buffets my soul,
and I remember
You are in control.
“Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven” (Psalm 107:28 – 30, KJV).
Father, thank You for all the storms You have brought me through. Thank You for Your peace that reigns even when the winds of trial rage. Still Your children, Lord. Strengthen hearts and souls. May we always remember that You alone are in control. In Jesus mighty name I pray.
