Father,

Today I pray for grace –

                grace to listen before I speak;

                grace to hear the heart behind the words;

                grace to soothe the ruffled and diffuse the ticked;

                grace to accomplish Your purpose rather than my plan.

I pray for wisdom –

                wisdom to see and know Truth;

                wisdom that guides decisions to align with Your heart;

                wisdom that discerns needs and shines light on darkness.

You are in control, and nothing will take You by surprise today. Let me walk in the assurance of that knowledge.

Thank You for wanting me.

Thank You for loving me.

Thank You for keeping me.

I love You, Lord.

James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Perspective in Prayer

My prayers usually focus on what I need God to do for me. Things like rain, health and healing for a friend, grace to deal with the frustrations of the day. I pray for my children and their children.
