I cannot touch you today

or bring you chicken soup

or flowers.

My eyes don’t see your face.

I can’t sit with you, and

my hand won’t hold your hand,

but my heart remembers.

Though separated by fifty miles

or a continent

we are

connected by heart.

My soul carried you to our Father.

I laid you in His care,

for His touch

is far stronger than mine.

His love covers more than mine.

I know

He will wrap you

in His grace

and

His best will be.

Father, thank You for caring for those who are far away. Thank You for giving me peace about their care. I know that they are safer where they are in Your care than if they were here with me. Thank You for the gift of prayer that allows me to bring them to Your throne each moment of each day. Grant them the peace of knowing You. In Jesus' strong name I pray.

"We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers" (1 Thessalonians 1:2, KJV).
