TRUTH

In the confusing messages of the day, we can have trouble discerning the Truth.
We are bombarded with opinions and unsubstantiated ‘facts’ and accusations and condescending attitudes toward those who disagree with the given message.
Some days, it is hard to stand.
So, how do we find Truth? How do we know for certain what is Right?
F. B Meyer gives this advice:
“If you live in the midst of bad people, bad books, and bad things, you lose your power of detecting bad thoughts when they come teeming about you like microbes. But if every day you spend an hour on God’s mountains or upon the broad sea of the Bible, and get some of God’s accurate senses into you, you will be able to detect things which are wrong that other people, even Christians, pass without seeing as wrong.”
Amazingly I find the same principle in Psalm 1:
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
If we want to know the Truth, recognize the Truth when lies abound, live the Truth, prosper in the Truth, we must read the Truth.
We must think deeply about the Truth.
We must delight in the Truth.
How thankful I am that I have access to the Truth in the Bible I hold in my hand. God has given me His Word, and He has given me His Holy Spirit to guide me in understanding His Word (Truth).
My job is simple, but it is not easy-
Caught in the distractions of a harried world, I must discipline myself to read His Truth. I must allow my heart to believe His Truth. And I must consciously train myself to think about His Truth throughout every day.
When God’s Truth is embedded in my heart and mind, the false philosophies of this world will clang in my heart like wrong notes in a symphony.
When God’s Truth is embedded in my heart and mind, it will flow out into my words and my actions.
When God’s Truth is embedded in my heart, it is my armor against the lies of this age.
Read the Truth.
Delight in the Truth.
Meditate on the Truth.
Speak the Truth.
Live the Truth.
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
I Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
