Spring

Spring flowed in oncrests of showersaccompanied by thunder crashes.Tired leaves shook from theirtenuous grasp on the arms of oaksand joined the cascade into driveways and ponds,gutters and ditches.Night fell.Morning awoke to a new world.Mountains of iridescent green lightedthe evergreens.Grasses greened and flowersburst from their buds.God washed the winter away.

Hearts can feel like winter – gray and cold.God sometimes uses the storms of this life to wash our cold hearts and draw them back to the warmth of His love and grace. May we, like the oaks, release the tired leaves of anger and regret and sorrow and resentment to wake refreshed in His light. May our lives glow anew with His mercy, blessing those who have the eyes to see.
