Father,
My heart hurts.
It hurts for a world entangled with the works of the flesh that can only lead to heartache and scars.
They are fighting.
They are following the wisdom of this world.
They are allowing lust and self to rule.
They are excusing and abusing Your teaching and proclaiming that all is well.
All is not well, Father.
We have traded Your shelter for the pigpen in our determination to be masters of our own fate.
You have called us to the safety of Your will and way, but we have turned aside to the dangerous jungle of self.
We feed our flesh with the husks of this world, while starving for the banquet You have prepared and ready for us.
We want Your peace, but we refuse to let go of our anxiety.
We want Your blessing, but we demand to walk our own way.
We want redemption, but we will not turn from our sin to the Cross.
You did not send Your Son to the Cross to cover our sinful ways.
You sent Him to abolish, destroy, deliver from the power of darkness.
You offer us a way out.
We cannot sanitize sin.
We must turn from it and run into Your arms of grace and forgiveness.
Let it be so, Lord.
Let it be so.
Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
Jeremiah 8:20 The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.
Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
