Mercy

I didn’t come to You demanding blessing,

Though You have blessed my life abundantly.

I didn’t ask for peace, no joy did I seek,

For I knew the sin inside of me.

I could only wonder at Your greatness;

Creator God, Lord of all the Earth.

And I could only bow

Not understanding how

You could offer me a brand-new birth.

I cried out for mercy to look beyond my sin,

To touch my heart within

And make it clean.

I knew I needed grace,

Undeserved compassion,

Hands that could fashion

A new heart for me.

Mercy’s what I need.

Walking in the glory of Your presence

Every day brings joy beyond compare.

You have claimed my heart

And right from the start

You’ve helped me see who You meant me to be.

You have granted peace beyond all knowing

Joy far beyond my wildest dreams.

Every day brings new

Glimpses of You

As I learn to follow where You lead.

I cried out for mercy to look beyond my sin,

To touch my heart within

And make it clean.

I knew I needed grace,

Undeserved compassion,

Hands that could fashion

A new heart for me.

Mercy’s what I need.

Ephesians 2:But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Titus 3:But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior;
