Miniscule blossomsLift flowered heads to the sun.Harbingers of Spring.

This morning’s walk revealed many indications that Spring is at the door. Even though February has not yet passed, the warming breeze was refreshing. I walked under silhouetted trees still caught in winter’s grip, showcasing bare branches, and I enjoyed the sight of buds breaking out on others. Looking across the park, I relished the carpet of tiny blossoms springing up from the dry winter grass. As Solomon said,
“The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come” (Song of Solomon 2:12).
After winter’s gray, spring signals promise and potential. The air invigorates and draws us outdoors. Even this world that has strayed so far from God’s way cannot stop His message of hope in the changing season.
I find this true in my own heart as well. God’s Spirit fosters hope regardless of the darkness and trial in this land. No thing or person can dim the light that He gives.
Toward the end of the book of Romans we find Paul’s assertion of this fact:
13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost (Romans 15:13, KJV).
God is the God of hope, and all our hope is found in Him. Through the hard times and the pleasant times, His Spirit births hope in the hearts of His children. We have access to this hope through faith no matter what we are enduring.
God’s Holy Spirit speaks hope in the believer’s life in assurance of the life to come, a life as sure as the changing of the season.
This is the message of the Resurrection.
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us (Romans 5:5, KJV).
