Dawning

I watched the dawn this morning.
Light slowly emerged from the darkness, ushering in a new day. Trees and grass appeared as the sky quickly changed from black to gray to blue.
Life awoke.
Birds greeted the awakening with me, and tendrils of fog could no longer survive the light. A new morning, a new day, a new opportunity.
How like the coming of Jesus into this dark world. How like His dawning into a heart shrouded in the darkness of sin.
His coming brings light and grace and purpose. His coming brings the newness of dawn into the night of the lost.
“The people which sat in darkness saw a great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.” Matthew 4:16
Isaiah 9: 2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
