We’re busy, Lord, but are we busy for You?We’re working, Lord, but are our efforts getting through? Are we building for Your kingdomor just stacking hay and straw? Are we planting for Your kingdomthat is coming?Tune our ears to hear Your trumpet.Keep our eyes set on Your goal.Let Your Kingdom come.Let Your Kingdom come.
Busyness can take on a life of its own. Taking inventory of time spent can give us a good idea of the fruitfulness of our days.
As I think about my moments and my days, I want to know that they honor the Christ that I love. He has called me to love Him with all my heart, all my understanding, all my soul, and all my strength.
So, if I love Him with all that I am, the work, the activity that I do will show His love in the world around me.
It will touch others with His love.
Building His kingdom, serving Christ, means ministering to and caring for others, and sharing His truth with those I meet.
I don’t want to just be busy. I want to be actively serving Him by loving people, Every. Day.
How about you?
34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. 35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; 36 And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately (Luke 12:34 – 36, KJV).
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom (Psalm 90:12).
