I walked out to the parking lot today, and I passed a winter flower bed. I call it a winter flower bed because it was brown and gray. Cold weather and frost had accomplished their purpose leaving a less than beautiful area in need of a master gardener.
I stopped for a moment when I noticed some green sprouts that were timidly just beginning to show. But then I saw this one large daffodil bloom standing tall and proud. It was beautiful. None of the other sprouts were even boasting buds, but this one flower made a statement that touched my heart.

That daffodil reminded me that one can make a difference.
One flower brightened my morning.
One smile can reach out to a heart.
One hand can help carry a load.
One person can change the situation for another.
One act of kindness can be the difference between encouragement and despair.
I looked at that daffodil and I asked God to help me make a difference for someone, to be the one who shines His light for another to see.
Will you be the one for someone today?
So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing (1 Thessalonians 5:11, NLT).
