Thankful!

Tonight I am thankful.

I am thankful for the absolute silence as I stood under a billion stars at midnight.

I am thankful for the crow that I heard cawing in the early morning.

I am thankful for the laughter of children as they run and play.

I am thankful for windswept skies, cool breezes, and deep breaths.

I am thankful for family, and friends, and love, and treasured memories.

I am thankful for the ability to walk where I need to go.

I am thankful for tiny hands in mine and for large hands that hold mine.

I am thankful for happy yesterdays and hopeful tomorrows.

I am thankful for hot showers and soft towels.

I am thankful, so thankful, for unmerited grace, for God’s unsurpassed love.

I am thankful for God’s abundant provision through and for each day.

I am thankful for the churches scattered across our land where faithful people meet to worship the God of creation.

I am thankful for my place in the family of God.

I am thankful for the smiles that brighten each day and the hugs that fill my heart.

I am thankful.

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Psalm 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
