Like the Israelites

We take great pride in our ability to fret and worry, almost as if to fail to do so indicates a lack of care on our part. God, however, calls us to look beyond our circumstances and trust Him with the cares of this life.
When God called the Israelites to cross over into the Promised Land, they faltered.“There are giants,” they said.“There is danger,” they said.“We can’t stand.”“We are afraid.”And so they remained wandering in the wilderness for long years, unfulfilled, without true rest, their inheritance unclaimed.Today, God calls His children to His peace, but we falter.“There are trials,” we say.“There is sorrow,” we say.“The way is hard.”“The enemy is strong.”We cling tenaciously to what we can see rather than trusting our whole lives to Him who loves us,and we wander defeatedwithout peace, without rest, without the blessings He has promised.God has given us the key to victory and to His perfect peace, but we, just like the Israelites, must look beyond the circumstances to trust Him.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6 – 7, NKJV).
You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. (Isaiah 26:3, NKJV).
God, Who knows the end from the beginning, has today and tomorrow figured out and under control. We can rest our hearts in Him.
