He’s Still Working On Me

After almost two months of forced rest after emergency surgery, I find myself back at the computer. Don’t let anyone kid you, anesthesia brain is a real phenomenon.

I am thankful for God’s healing touch and a caring family, and I am thankful to be regaining strength. The words in Psalm 23 ring true. There are times when He makes us lie down (emphasis mine).

Today, as I worked on the scripture memorization plan started during my convalescence, I read Philippians 1:6:

being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6, NKJV);

I was reminded once again that I am not in charge of this journey. God is.

He began the work in me. He will complete it. The road I am traveling will lead through valleys and over mountains, through illness and trial. Some days will be filled with laughter while others will overflow with pain. Through it all, He is in charge, and through it all, He is working to finish the good work He began in me.

Philippians 1:6 gave my heart cause to rejoice because I know that God is not finished with me yet.

Today, I am confident.

Not in my own abilities or accomplishments.

Not in my own good works.

I am confident in my Father who is working in me. He will finish His work.

And I know that His work is always good.

13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure (Philippians 2:13, KJV).

How is God working in your life today?
