Challenge for Spring

Yesterday it was a speck of green;

Today, a proud shoot

pushes through the spring loam.

After winter’s rest,

the bulb seeks the light.

No hesitancy in its pursuit,

visible to all, it grows toward its goal –

a flower.

The plant is my challenge

to make my quest of light

as courageous,

my growth as visible,

and my goal as beautiful.

II Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
